CG216 / CT216 Series

The CG216 & CT216 Series spectrometers are cost-effective high-performance CCD spectrometers designed for interfacing with a personal computer. The standard sensor arrays used in the spectrometer is Toshiba TCD1304DG B/W board-level line CCD camera, based on a single-line, 3648-pixel CCD chip. The array driver electronics are developed by Holmarc and have been designed for highly sensitive yet stable operation. More pixel numbers in the sensor makes the CG216 & CT216 Series spectrometers are more preferable for the applications requiring higher resolution.

The better sensitivity of the CCD makes the spectrometer more suitable for the applications with lower light signals. It can accept light directly through its built-in slit or via optical fiber. UV spectrometers uses windowless CCD to increase the UV sensitivity down to 200nm. It helps the signal sensitivity below 380nm to get improved ~20-50% more in general.

CT216 Series optical platform is based on f/4 Czerny-Turner and CG216 Spectrometer utilizes f/2.9 concave grating element for spectral dispersion. Standard interface to the CG216 & CT216 Series spectrometers are a USB 2.0 compatible interface with 16-bit extended dynamic range. Software support includes a SDK and DLLs for dedicated applications development and Spectra QSR Windows-based spectral acquisition and analysis software.

with -30 Degree Cooled CCD
Cooling enables long integration times with low noise values. A three-stage Peltier cooling device is integrated into spectrometer sensor which can reduce the temperature of the CCD chip by -30 °C against ambient, improving the dark baseline level by a significant factor. The detector cooling also reduces the dark noise by a factor of 2 to 3. It makes this instrument ideally suitable for measuring low light applications like fluorescence.

CT216 CCD Spectrometers
The CT216 Series spectrometers are custom-wavelength range configured models which can be tuned to desired spectral range for custom wavelengths application. Resolution can be down to 0.05nm.
