Non magnetic breadboards are used where the Optical experiment setups to be built are sensitive to magnetic properties of breadboard construction materials. These special breadboards are constructed of 304 grade stainless steel on top and aluminium on bottom part. This alloy of steel contains less iron than typical stainless steel, which reduces its ferromagnetic properties. The honeycomb structure is constructed from aluminium.



        Thickness    :    30 mm
        3 mm thick non-magnetic SS top skin(SS304)
        Bottom skin made of 2 mm thick epoxy coated aluminium
        Aluminium honeycomb core
        Core cell size of 6 sq. cm.(Approx.)
        Nylon cups under each tapped hole
        + / - 0.1 mm flatness on top over 300 mm x 300 mm area (non-cumulative error)
        M6 tapped holes at 25 mm grid
        Distance of the first raw of mounting holes from the edge is 37.5 mm
        Semi solid epoxy bonding
        Side walls finished with black form sheet having matte finish
